Emotion Coaching Workshop
for Parents of Teens
Learn to stay calm, connected, and confident — even when emotions run high.
Do you ever feel lost when your teen is intensely emotional?
Maybe you wonder why small things trigger big reactions.
Maybe you’ve tried to help — but it only seems to make things worse.
When your teen is angry, anxious, or in tears, it’s natural to feel confused
about how to respond.
Should you reassure them? Set firmer limits? Try to fix the problem?
You’re not alone. So many parents of teens tell me:
“I just don’t know what to do when my teen’s emotions take over. I feel like I have read every book, but I feel so stuck when they are struggling the most.” The truth is, strong emotions are normal and healthy — especially in adolescence.
Teens are learning to navigate independence, relationships, and identity, all while their brains are still developing emotional regulation skills. There is a way for you to step in and help them learn emotion regulation. You just need the right therapeutic tool, and I am here to guide you
What You’ll Learn
This live, 3-hour Zoom workshop gives you a clear, compassionate roadmap for responding to your teen’s emotions.
You’ll learn the foundations of emotion coaching, a practical approach rooted in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
Over 3 interactive hours, you’ll discover:
💡 How to notice and pause your “default responses” — so you can respond therapeutically instead of reactively.
💡 The 3 steps of emotion coaching:
1️⃣ Validation — your superpower for calming your teen’s nervous system and helping them feel truly understood.
2️⃣ Emotional support — how to meet the need for comfort, space, or reassurance.
3️⃣ Practical support — how to guide and problem-solve in a strategic way, that meets your teen’s unique needs.
💡 Real-life practice — a chance to try these skills in a small, supportive group with personalized feedback.
Why This Matters
When parents learn emotion coaching, they feel less stressed and more empowered:
Emotion coaching helps you strengthen your relationship while supporting your teen’s growth, resilience, and mental health.
Your calm presence can literally rewire how your teen learns to handle emotions — now and into adulthood.
