Community-Based Presentations
I offer community-based mental health presentations for schools, parent councils, and community organizations, available by request.
With many years of experience presenting to parent groups, educators, and community organizations, my talks are designed to support youth mental health in practical, compassionate, and evidence-informed ways. These presentations are well-suited for parent engagement initiatives, professional development days, and community education events.
Each presentation is grounded in over 25 years of clinical experience as a Registered Social Worker and Therapist, with a strong focus on emotional connection, healthy child development, and empowering parents as their child’s most important source of support.

Presentation Topics
Raising Tech-Healthy Families:
How to Protect Your Child’s Mental Health
A timely, research-informed presentation exploring how smartphones, social media, and addictive algorithms can interfere with family life and impact youth mental health.
Parents gain clarity about current research on screen use and leave with realistic strategies for delaying device use with young children and supporting healthier digital habits with older kids. Most importantly, we focus on how parents can prioritize their relationship with their child and create home environments that foster connection, resilience, and mental well-being.
Supporting Your Anxious Teen
Designed for parents of tweens and teens who want to better understand why anxiety rates are rising—and what actually helps.
Anxiety can take over family life and create significant stress for parents. The good news is that parents play a powerful role in supporting their teen’s recovery. This presentation offers a clear understanding of anxiety, along with simple, effective strategies that reduce avoidance and support confidence, courage, and emotional safety.
Grief and Kids: How to Support Grieving Children
Grief is an inevitable part of life, yet many adults feel unsure how best to support grieving children, especially following sudden or deeply significant losses.
Based on my experience as a social worker in palliative care and a therapist to grieving families for over 15 years, I help caregivers understand how grief shows up across development, how to talk with children about death and loss, and how to provide steady, compassionate support over time. Participants leave with greater confidence in supporting children with grief.
Funding Through the Parent
Reaching Out (PRO) Grant
Ontario school communities are encouraged to consider using the Parent Reaching Out (PRO) Grant to bring these presentations into their school. Parent councils can use PRO funding to support parent engagement, mental health education, and community connection.
I’m happy to collaborate with parent councils and school administrators to ensure the presentation aligns with grant goals and community needs.
